By now, it is expected that the candidacy of Saron Gebreselassie in the 2018 mayoral race in Toronto is known to those who follow local and Eritrean social media. This is just a reminder to Toronto residents that the day to cast your vote is just around the corner, Monday Oct.22.
At her age, the quantum leap Saron has made by putting her name in the mayoral candidate’s list, her passionate and bold comportment in the series of debates has been an inspiration to our youth and pride to the Eritrean community and to the Toronto Black communities in general.
At this juncture, when the wind of positive change is blowing over the Horn region and our leaders setting the stage, calling once again for an active collaboration among our respective nations, locally when events like the mayoral contest occur, it gives us an opportunity to come together and support those among us like Saron to succeed in such a worthy endeavour which would eventually result in a positive feedback and growth of our respective communities. So it is incumbent upon Toronto residents from Somalia, Sudan, Ethiopia, Southern Sudan, Djibouti, Kenya, Uganda to give your vote to Saron GebreLuul.
